Crystal Palace are keen on signing Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard, according to the Scottish Sun. It was believed that the Hoops would hold out for a fee above £30m for the Frenchman but the newspaper claims the price has now “dropped” to £25m.
Palace are not the only team interested in the 22-year-old with the Sun reporting that “several clubs” have been in contact with the player’s agent in recent weeks.
Leicester are said to be Palace’s main rivals, although there has also been talk of interest from Arsenal and Leeds. Whether Celtic would actually countenance any bids for the striker this summer, it does seem unlikely.
The Scottish champions are very keen for Edouard to stay around so the club have the greatest chance of sealing ten league titles in a row.
However, the financial pressures of the global health crisis may still play a role in the France Under 21 international’s future. If Palace do come in with high enough bid, history shows us that Celtic will likely sell up.
