Scotland’s Deputy First Minister John Swinney has reportedly suggested that Scotland could be in “phase 4” in controlling the COVID-19 outbreak by August.

This would mean that the virus would be under control to the extent which could allow mass gatherings, including at football stadiums.

Some supporters are sceptical about Swinney’s remarks while others are hopeful that they will be able to return to Celtic Park for the start of next season:

Making such predictions about the future, considering concerns over a second wave, is pretty much guesswork so it is probably wise not to get your hopes up regarding the chances of crowds filling the seats at Scottish grounds.

The likeliest outcome is probably a phased return, whereby a limited number of fans are allowed inside the stadium so clubs can best control the situation. It could be well into next season before we see full houses at Parkhead once again.
