Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says he is keen to ensure that the Hoops can still react to opportunities if a player becomes available in the transfer market this month.

The Scottish club have already snapped up Japanese trio Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi, with many assuming that would be the end of their business in the January transfer window. However, Postecoglou has not ruled out more signings:

“I don’t think we will be too busy, but we’ve got to stay agile during this period. We’re looking at the squad the whole time, and through the window we’ll make sure what we’ll need, if it’s available, we’ll bring it in. I don’t expect it to be too hectic, but we’ll stay alert. We’ll make sure if the right thing comes along in terms of incomings and outgoings, we’ll be able to move.”

Getting Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers tied down to permanent deals is thought to be Celtic’s main focus, but there has been reported interest in other players.

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Hannes Wolf has been linked with a loan switch to Parkhead in the German media, while there is speculation that the Hoops could get involved in the battle to sign Hibs winger Martin Boyle. We shall have to wait and see whether any other deals do materialise before the window closes on January 31st.
