Leicester are leading three other English clubs in the race to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis from Tottenham, according to SBI.

The American sports website claims that Brendan Rodgers’ side have registered their interest in the USA international, along with Wolves, Watford and Bournemouth.

Carter-Vickers has been excellent during his loan spell at Celtic and, while the Hoops do have an option to buy the defender, they would need the approval of the player as well.

SBI also claim that the cost of the transfer will be substantial. Spurs expect teams to pay £6m upfront for the centre-back, with add-ons that could see the cost of the deal rise above the £10m mark.

It is hard to see Celtic agreeing to pay that sort of fee, even though Carter-Vickers has proven to be a valuable asset for manager Ange Postecoglou. We shall have to wait and see how the situation unfolds.
