Celtic will be seeking a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.

The Hoops shelled out £4.5m on Vasilis Barkas in the summer but the Greek international put in another abject display in the 4-2 defeat to AC Milan last night and the expectation is he will be replaced as number one in the New Year:

There were a number of poor recruitment decisions made in the summer, with the likes of loan signing Shane Duffy and the £5m deal to snap up Albian Ajeti from West Ham having also been called into question.

In terms of the goalkeeping situation, a loan is the likeliest option, although there are no leading candidates at the current time. Manchester United’s Dean Henderson has been mentioned in some reports, but it would be a big surprise if the England international was prepared to leave Old Trafford.

Another attempt for Southampton’s Fraser Forster could also be made, although there would be some resistance to the move among supporters following his decision to turn down a switch before the start of the season.
