Celtic right-back Josip Juranovic made a big impact when he was sent on for the second half against Dundee United on Saturday.
Liam Scales had toiled before the interval, and the Croatian international steadied the ship after replacing the Irishman, performing his duties and helping the Hoops secure a vital home win.
Fans on Twitter have been singling Juranovic out for praise, with some saying he is probably the best new recruit since manager Ange Postecoglou was appointed last summer:
No disrespect to rqlston but this guy is different gravy

Knew we had a baller on our hands when he made his debut and played out of position at ibrox and didn’t look flustered at all.

Absolute baller, ralston early form starting to level out. Completely earned his new contract but lacks added quality against better opposition

He was the diffrence maker for me today always trying to drive foward and make somthing happen🍀

Completely agree. IMO best signing we’ve made under Ange. Every game 7/10 at least

Big Tony does a job but today typified why this guy has to be no 1 pic. So much of a better fit to the system. Very important role in the winner.

While Anthony Ralston started the season like a house on fire, Juranovic has certainly more than matched his rival for the right-back spot, and the Croatian’s performances recently suggest he deserves to be a regular starter in his natural position.
As we saw at the weekend, Juranovic will do a job on the left flank if the situation calls for it but, in the long term, he has to be the first choice on the right-hand side.
