Brighton are not willing to match Celtic’s asking price for Odsonne Edouard, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The usually reliable reporter also claims that the English Premier League side are unwilling to match the Frenchman’s wage demands, although there is still a possibility that a move could take place later this month:

In addition to Brighton, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors, while Roma have emerged as a possible frontrunner in the last 24 hours. However, from the sound of things, a sale is not close to being finalised.

The Hoops are said to be demanding around £20m due to the fact they owe a substantial sell-on clause to the player’s previous club, Paris Saint-Germain. It is, though, surprising to hear that even a Premier League side is struggling to meet Edouard’s salary expectations. He must be demanding quite a substantial rise on what he is earning in Scotland.
