Fenerbahce have tabled a €3m (£2.7m) offer for Bristol City wingback Niclas Eliasson, according to reports in the Turkish media.
The Super Lig side have held discussions with the English Championship club about signing the Swedish midfielder as they look to snap up the player before the transfer window shuts.
Eliasson has been on Celtic’s radar for a number of months but it was reported earlier this week that the Scottish champions had reignited their interest in the 24-year-old after failing to a agree a deal to sign Alfie Doughty from Charlton.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon is keen to improve his options on the left-hand side following the departure of Boli Bolingoli but Fenerbahce’s involvement in the race for Eliasson will complicate things further. Competition for the player could also increase if another interested club, Aston Villa, also enter the race.
With that being the case, Celtic may look at other potential alternatives with reports suggesting that Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon could also be on the club’s list of targets.
