Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says they are prepared if Odsonne Edouard is sold before the transfer window closes later this month.

On Friday, it emerged that Southampton may battle Brighton for the Frenchman’s signature, after they sold Danny Ings to Aston Villa, but Postecoglou claims he still intends to play the striker despite the interest being shown in him:

“While he’s here, if he’s playing well and training well, then I will select him. If something changes over the course of the next few weeks, then we are ready for it.”

The Hoops are believed to be holding out for around £20m for Edouard, despite the fact that the 23-year-old has less than a year remaining on his contract.

In addition to Southampton and Brighton, other English teams such as Crystal Palace and Arsenal have been linked but it doesn’t appear as though a transfer is imminent at this stage.

Edouard will be involved when Celtic take on Dundee this afternoon, after recovering from a minor knock that prevented him from starting against Czech side FK Jablonec in the Europa League midweek.
