Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is so keen on moving back to Inter Milan that he is prepared to cut his salary in half, according to reports in Italy.
The Belgian only made the switch from the Nerazzurri last summer but he has struggled for goals, leading to manager Thomas Tuchel leaving him out of the side for some key matches in recent weeks.
Lukaku is reportedly earning £325,000 a week at Stamford Bridge so he would be prepared to take a massive hit in order to secure his return to the Serie A champions.
However, even with the wage reduction, it is still unlikely that Inter are in a position to sign him. Chelsea paid £97.5m for the 28-year-old and would likely expect to get a significant portion of that transfer fee back.
The Italian club are, though, not able to make such a bid. They need to sell players to balance the books and may only be prepared to propose a loan deal. That is something that Chelsea are unlikely to be interested in.
