Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane will be sold after the European Championships if he doesn’t respond to the club’s latest contract offer by then, according to ABC.

The Spanish news outlet claims the Frenchman’s representatives, the CAA BASE agency, have so far not replied to Real’s latest contract offer to the player, which would see the centre-back earn €7m a year; an increase on the €5.5m he is currently earning.

Real are taking the lack of response as meaning that Varane won’t renew and, to prevent him from leaving for nothing next summer, the La Liga club are looking to offload the 28-year-old.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris-Saint-Germain are the three clubs waiting in the wings to sign the France international. ABC say that a fee of €60m (£51.5m) and €70m (£60m) will be demanded, although that is based on his Transfermarkt value and, considering his contract situation, it could mean the player will be available for less.
