Chelsea are very much still in the race to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Blues have been tracking the France international for the last eighteen months, but it seemed that the club’s ownership situation may have jeopardised their chances of snapping up the player.
However, with Todd Boehly’s consortium on the verge of completing their takeover, it appears as if the recruitment department have begun stepping up their summer transfer plans.
Tchouameni is also being pursued by Liverpool and Real Madrid, but the 22-year-old’s €75m (£64m) price tag is proving a problem for the latter. It means Chelsea do have a decent chance of securing the Frenchman’s services if they do press ahead with an offer.
The midfielder is believed to be keen on moving to either England or Spain and he has already decided that he wants a move this summer. We shall see who wins the race for his signature.
