Chelsea are ready to let Tammy Abraham go out on loan as long as it is in view to a permanent transfer, according to the Daily Express journalist Tony Banks.
The reporter claims that the Blues are holding out for a fee of around £40m for the 23-year-old but they are aware that figure is putting off suitors.
Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham are all said to be interested in Abraham but the Gunners are thought to have progressed the furthest in their talks with the player.
The England international currently earns £80,000 a week but he expects to be given a £125,000 a week (£6.5m a year) salary if he leaves Stamford Bridge this summer.
That is an amount that Arsenal are willing to pay Abraham so an agreement only now needs to be reached between Mikel Arteta’s side and Chelsea about the structure of the loan.
When that will happen depends on the Gunners’ own situation. They will have to sell some strikers before going all in to sign Abraham before the transfer window closes next month.
