Juventus are weighing up whether to offer up midfielder Arthur in their bid to sign Chelsea forward Timo Werner, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Bianconeri are known to be keen admirers of the German international, and they are hoping that Chelsea would be open to a swap deal.
Arthur was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window, but a deal collapsed after Juve refused to sanction a loan switch.
The Serie A club are, though, still keen on offloading the Brazilian on a permanent basis. They believe that both Arthur and Werner have the same market value (€40m or £34m) so there is optimism that Chelsea would be interested in the proposal.
However, while manager Thomas Tuchel is keen on strengthening his options in midfield, it is unlikely he’ll be interested in Arthur, who is similar in style to Jorginho. The Blues are expected to go after someone with greater physical attributes such as Brighton’s Yves Bissouma or (if the budget allows), West Ham’s Declan Rice.
