Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is a doubt for the Blues’ Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Saturday after picking up an ankle problem on international duty.
The American international had to be substituted on the hour mark in the USA’s 4-1 win over Honduras during a World Cup qualifier after a collision with Maynor Figueroa.
Following the game, national team coach Gregg Berhalter revealed that Pulisic had sustained a “slight ankle injury” and the seriousness of the issue will become more apparent after he arrives back in the UK.
From what Berhalter says, it does appear it is a minor issue but, with the game versus Villa just two days away, it is highly unlikely that Pulisic will recover in time for the match.
The 22-year-old has already spent some time on the sidelines this season after contracting the virus last month and it looks as though he will be absent once more this weekend.
