Chelsea could beat Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Milan wingback Achraf Hakimi’s signature if they also include one of four players in a part-exchange offer, according to the Corriere Dello Sport (via Le10 Sport).
The Italian publication say that the Blues have a distinct advantage over PSG in the fact that Inter would be interested in signing Tammy Abraham, Mateo Kovacic, Davide Zappcosta or Emerson Palmieri.
Were one of these four to be used in Chelsea’s next offer, it is believed Hakimi could be signed, with the Blues only having to pay an additional €50m (£43m) for the Moroccan international.
Considering Inter’s asking price is €80m, you would think that would rule out Abraham and Kovacic moving in the other direction, considering they are worth considerably more than €30m.
Even so, it is a promising development, and we shall see in the coming days whether another approach is made for Hakimi.
