Chelsea have “contacted” Real Madrid about the possibility of signing winger Marco Asensio, according to Defensa Central.
The Spanish website claims that the Blues and Paris Saint-Germain have been in touch with both Real and the player’s entourage to ask about his situation.
Asensio could be deemed surplus to requirements as the La Liga side are planning to revamp their attack in the summer, with Kylian Mbappe (and perhaps even Erling Haaland) being signed.
For their part, Chelsea don’t see Asensio as their number one target. Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele is reportedly their priority but, if the Frenchman ends up moving elsewhere when his contract expires in June, Asensio could be considered as an alternative.
Defensa Central claim that Real have told the Blues and PSG that they won’t make a decision on the 26-year-old’s future before the end of the season, while the player himself is believed to be concentrating on his football.
