Chelsea are keeping tabs on Anderlecht left-wingback Sergio Gomez, according to reports in the English media.
The Spanish Under 21 international only moved from Borussia Dortmund in the summer but he has impressed during his first season in Belgium, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists in 28 appearances.
Gomez can play as a left-back, wingback or as a winger, and his versatility would make him ideally suited for manager Thomas Tuchel, who likes to change his system between three and four at the back.
The Blues are not the only Premier League club tracking the 21-year-old’s progress though, with Manchester United also said to be watching the player.
It is not believed that Chelsea will make a move for Gomez during the January transfer window, with the club focusing on getting Emerson Palmieri back from Lyon, but the Anderlecht star has seriously impressed the London club’s scouts and he could be one to look out for in the future.
