Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella will not be leaving the San Siro this summer, despite interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper claims all three Premier League clubs are interested in the Italian international but they have been given the same “categorical” response that he is not for sale.

Barella has been linked with a €70m (£60m) switch to England in recent days by Inter’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta wants to keep hold of the 24-year-old as he is a key player.

The Serie A club want to retain a strong core of Italian players in their squad, particularly after the country’s success at the European Championships, while Barella himself is being considered as the club’s next captain after Samir Handanovic.

It appears that interest from the Premier League will also lead to Barella getting a new contract, with his salary expected to rise from €2.5m to €4m a year.
