Chelsea are waiting for the right moment to make a formal move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, according to TMW.
The website claims that the Blues have an offer “ready” to go worth €55m (£45.8m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons for the France international with discussions ongoing between the two parties.
Barcelona were also said to be prepared to make a big bid for Kounde, worth in excess of €50m (£41.2m), but the centre-back reportedly “wants” to make the switch to London.
It is believed that Chelsea had a deal all but sewn up last summer, with personal terms having been agreed, but Sevilla opted to increase their asking price, which consequently scuppered the deal.
The La Liga side are expected to be more open to selling for a lower fee at the end of the season, so it does appear that the likelihood of Kounde moving to Stamford Bridge is now very high.
