The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has confirmed that the player wants to renew his contract with the Blues when the ownership situation is resolved.
Joao Santos says that he is aware of interest from Juventus but the first priority will be to extend the Italian’s stay at Stamford Bridge, if at all possible:
“I haven’t talked to Juventus, but I know of their interest in Jorginho. We have a contract with Chelsea until 2023 and it is a particular moment for the club, where there are no negotiations because the market is blocked both in entry and in exit. If the situation unfolds, the priority will be to deal with the renewal. Should Chelsea fail to renew their contract, then we will listen to all the teams involved.”
Unsurprisingly, the remarks have gone down pretty well on Twitter, with the majority of fans keen on Jorginho extending his current deal with the London club:
Hope he renews with Chelsea
He is a Chelsea legend for sure 🙏🏻😢— Mo 🙂 (@M13ffs) March 17, 2022
I’m quite indifferent about this. We sure can do without Jorginho so I’ll suggest we cash in if we got an offer suitable and if not, we can as well keep him. He will surely play a role for sure

It must be said that Jorginho’s form has been pretty poor in recent months but his superb through ball for Christian Pulisic’s goal against Lille on Wednesday night demonstrated the skill that he possesses.
As Santos points out, no talks over renewal can happen until a takeover of the club is complete. The deadline for offers is thought to be today and we should find out soon enough about who the preferred bidders are.
