Chelsea forward Timo Werner has reportedly tasked his agent with finding another club ahead of the summer transfer window.
The German has had two fruitless seasons in front of goal since his move to Stamford Bridge, and even though most fans on Twitter agree a departure is inevitable, many lament the fact that it hasn’t worked out:
I hoped he made big at Chelsea

Very sad….just didn’t work out

His effort and attitude were never in doubt. I think all Chlesea fans hope he has great success elsewhere.

I’ll be sad to see him go. Still think he’s a brilliant striker, but if we’re not going to use him as one it’s a waste for both parties. Makes a bit of room in the squad for Broja too hopefully.

It’s clear he’s a below average player that isn’t good enough.

I still think Timo 20+ g/a in his first season is very much overlooked though. But agree on parting ways to suiting both parties without much fuss

I never saw “anything real” in him from the beginning. He has been average all the way through. Time to go.

He didn’t shine at Chelsea i believe he will shine elsewhere.

There were high hopes for Werner when he first arrived from RB Leipzig for £47.5m in 2020 but his profligacy in front of goal has effectively cost him his place in the starting eleven.
Supporters will never fault the 25-year-old for his work rate and effort, but he simply hasn’t provided the goals that everyone would have hoped for.
If he does cut ties with the Blues in the summer as expected, there will certainly be no ill will towards him among fans and they will wish him well at his next club.
