Borussia Dortmund have set a deadline to sell Erling Haaland this summer, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.
The former footballer turned journalist claims the Bundesliga side won’t consider bids for Haaland after their season gets underway against Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Cup on Saturday:
Like I said at the beginning of this week. I think this week is the deadline. The cup starts in Germany next weekend. I still think an “informal” offer will be the case here, cause nobody wants to lose their face. For 2 months I’ve said only a crazy bid can change the game

Whether that is a hard and fast deadline, we shall have to wait and see, but if Chelsea are going to make a move for Haaland, it is more than likely going to happen within the next five days.
As Fjortoft has pointed out, it will need to be a massive bid for Dortmund to even consider selling up, with many believing an offer close to €175m (£150m) will be needed.
Most reports seem to suggest that the Blues are focused on signing Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku at the moment, but if they continue to be frustrated in their attempts to sign the Belgian, they might go all-in for Haaland instead.
