BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is backing Chelsea to secure the three points when they travel to face Leeds this evening.
The Blues are very much stumbling over the line as they look to secure Champions League qualification but, while Owen claims Thomas Tuchel’s side are now under more pressure in the race for a top-four spot, he is backing them to get a win at Elland Road:
“For most of the season, it would have been unthinkable for them to finish outside the top four, but they are making things difficult for themselves. With Arsenal just a point behind, they can’t afford any more dropped points. I think Chelsea will win this though. Leeds are really struggling.”
Owen has gone with a 2-0 win to Chelsea, which seems like a fair prediction, considering they are still pretty strong away from home. Saying that, though, they did lose against Everton in their last match on the road, and that should stand as a warning about facing relegation-threatened teams.
Leeds are fighting for their lives near the bottom of the table and, if the Blues are to pick up a victory tonight, they will have to show the same level of commitment and determination as their opponents.
