BT Sport pundit Michael Owen says he is expecting a reaction from Chelsea against Juventus this evening, following their chastening home defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
Juve are not in great form and, while Owen still feels the Italian side will be a threat, he believes the Blues will come out on top in Turin tonight:
“I still think Chelsea have a good chance of retaining this trophy. Juventus have started their Serie A season in poor form and frankly, don’t look quite the side they once were. I would never write them off, particularly with Allegri back at the helm, but I fancy Chelsea to come back from Turin with a win.”
Owen has gone with a 1-0 victory for Chelsea. That prediction could be bang on the money as Thomas Tuchel’s side rarely give away chances, and they should have enough in the final third to get at least one goal on the night.
Juventus have conceded two goals in each of their last two games so even though they do have legendary defenders such as Leonardo Bonucci to call upon, they are not exactly watertight at the moment.
You would hope that the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz will be able to cause them problems and help get another crucial group stage win under the belt.
