Chelsea are still considering whether to make a bid for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, according to TYC Sports.
The Argentinian TV channel reports that the Blues have not made a formal offer for the 29-year-old yet but he is “one of those targeted” as a potential replacement for the injured Ben Chilwell.
Tagliafico does have other suitors. Barcelona have been in contact about signing the defender in recent days, while Marseille are keen on snapping up the player on loan.
However, Ajax want to offload the Argentine, who has 36 caps for his country, on a permanent basis, with an asking price being set at €7m (£5.8m).
That doesn’t appear to be a lot of money but Tagliafico is not even a regular starter for Ajax anymore, with Daley Blind having been selected ahead of him in recent weeks. With that being the case, Chelsea may still be looking to find a better option.
