Chelsea have tabled a “dizzying offer” to Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan newspaper claims that the Blues are leading Manchester City, Marseille and a number of Bundesliga clubs in the battle to secure the 18-year-old’s signature.
Moriba is in the final year of his contract with Barca, and is highly unlikely to sign a new deal. It seems like the Blues are favourites to snap up the Spaniard either this summer or on a free transfer next year.
The teenager became a regular starter under Ronald Koeman in the second half of last season, and he is an extremely promising young player.
Manchester United had also been tipped as a potential suitor for Moriba but, over the past week or so, it appears Chelsea have made a major play to sign him.
Manager Thomas Tuchel will want to strengthen his midfield options after letting Billy Gilmour leave on loan and Moriba could be a very useful addition to the squad.
