Chelsea managing director Marina Granovskaia was expected to sell Armando Broja for €30m (£25m) to €40m (£33.5m) before sanctions were imposed on the club, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian website claim that the Albanian international was a target for Napoli, who were given signals that the player was available, until uncertainty around the ownership of the Blues ended any discussions.

Broja has had an impressive loan spell at Southampton this season, and he has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and West Ham, in addition to Napoli.

There have been suggestions that manager Thomas Tuchel is keen on having Broja back at Cobham this summer so he can access whether he wants him in his first team plans, but it appears Granovskaia may have had other ideas.

Of course, with a takeover on the horizon, a lot can change. Granovskaia’s own future at the club is uncertain so, for the time being, fans should not be worried about the prospect of Broja’s sale.
