Chelsea are considering whether to make a “player plus cash offer” for Barcelona wingback Sergino Dest, according to the Daily Mail.
The American, who has 17 caps for his country, was a target for the Blues during the January transfer window, when they attempted to sign him on loan. However, it is believed that Thomas Tuchel’s side are now considering snapping up Dest on a permanent basis.
Barca are interested in both Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta so the Mail believe that one of the pair could be offered in Chelsea’s bid for Dest.
Out of the two players, you would think that Alonso is the likeliest to be put up for an exchange. The Spanish international is keen on leaving Stamford Bridge with the Camp Nou his preferred destination.
The Blues wouldn’t need to replace him either, with Emerson Palmieri expected to return to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell at Lyon. Dest would then provide cover for Reece James on the right flank.
