Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has not ruled out moving back to Italy when his contract at Stamford Bridge expires this summer.

Sanctions have effectively ended the Blues’ hopes of keeping the German international for the time being and, when asked by Sky Sport Italia whether a switch to a Serie A team is on the cards, he replied:

“At the moment I am here [at Chelsea], I am happy here, we’ll see, we’ll see…perhaps.”

Rudiger has been linked with Juventus, in addition to the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United in recent days, but he has, so far, not made a decision on his future.

There is still a small possibility that the 29-year-old will stay at Chelsea, but the takeover of the club would need to happen quickly, before his current deal ends.

The new owners, whoever they may be, would also have to approve handing Rudiger a sizeable wage increase, with it being reported that the centre-back is looking for in excess of £200,000 a week.
