Chelsea forward Timo Werner has said his decision to hire Volker Struth as his agent is not an indication that he is interested in moving to Bayern Munich.

Struth represents Bayern defenders Niklas Sule and Dayot Upamecano, as well as head coach Julian Nagelsmann, but when asked in an interview about the link-up, Werner played down a potential switch to the Allianz Arena:

“I didn’t choose Volker because he has some players and the coach in Munich. I repositioned myself with him to get a new perspective on my career. This should not be interpreted as a hint for or against Bayern.”

“It just worked out well between us. It wasn’t about which club might be of interest to me in the future. It was just about the interpersonal basis. The cooperation so far has been very good.”

Werner did, however, admit that he isn’t “satisfied” with the game time he is currently getting at Chelsea. The 25-year-old has only started three league matches so far this season, following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku at the club.

The forward said he is not aiming to leave Stamford Bridge, even if he isn’t afforded more starts before Christmas, but it is clear that the lack of minutes is playing on the German’s mind.

After starting and scoring against Southampton last weekend, Werner will be hoping for more opportunities after the international break.
