Wolves are willing to sell Ruben Neves for £35m this summer, according to reports in the UK. The Portuguese international has not had the best of seasons, having struggled for form for most of the campaign.
The 24-year-old has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United over the past year, and fans on Twitter have been discussing whether the Merseyside club should consider going after the midfielder:
Get him ASAP. An upgrade on GINI at a steal!!

Not good enough & wouldn’t fit our system.

@LFC get this boy and forget Bisuoma who will leave for #Afcon in January alongside Mane/salah/keita. Winter games are key and already we struggle around that period.

Neves doesn’t fit that profile. He’d be an average backup for Fabinho.

I’ll go and dig out my pocket money…

Neves is nothing to write home about to spend that money for him.

It must be pointed out that Neves is a very different player to Georginio Wijnaldum so those suggesting that he could be a direct replacement are pretty wide of the mark.
He is a holding midfielder by trade so he would be most comfortable in the position that Fabinho currently occupies. With the Brazilian being one of Jurgen Klopp’s key players, you can’t see him being moved from his current role.
Neves’s price tag is somewhat tempting but it would be a surprise if Liverpool do go after him in the summer transfer window.
