Liverpool have reignited their pursuit of Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Belgian international was heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and the Reds last summer after an impressive European Championships.
Calciomercato now say, however, that Doku is “back in fashion”, with Liverpool very keen on the player, who many have compared to Sadio Mane.
It would be a surprise if the Reds were still interested in the 19-year-old. His season has been plagued by hamstring injuries, and he has only managed to score two goals in 16 appearances.
Doku does prefer to play off the right-wing, though, so the teenager could be someone that is being looked at as a potential long-term replacement for Mo Salah.
It must be said that there are big question marks over he would be a suitable successor for the Egyptian. The Belgian is predominantly right-footed, while his goal record in senior football is pretty poor.
