Liverpool have enquired about signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The La Liga champions are thought to be willing to sell their club-record signing either in January or at the end of the season, but they are still demanding a significant fee for the 22-year-old.
Most fans on Twitter think that Felix would be an excellent signing, with many believing he is a perfect successor to Roberto Firmino:
Bring him in

Would be a cracking signing to be honest. Klopp could do wonders. My only worry is his injuries….. We do like to fill our hospital beds

The ultimate Roberto Firmino heir

He’s arguably the perfect Firmino replacement put there. But can’t see Atheletico letting him go for cheap and we don’t spend above 10m without sales anyway

@darthcompo88 this is never gonna happen in a million years, but I’d absolutely love to have him at Liverpool. What a signing that would be

It remains to be seen how accurate these stories are in regards to Felix. There was a report last week suggesting that the Reds had joined Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal in taking a keen interest in the player but the finances of the deal do still make a transfer unlikely.
Atletico paid £113m for the Portuguese international in 2019 and they would undoubtedly want to recoup a sizeable portion of that fee in any potential sale.
