Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are both continuing negotiations with superagent Mino Raiola about signing PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen, according to reports.
The Dutch international is believed to have a €30m (£26m) asking price, which Dortmund are not currently prepared to pay, so the Reds could already have an advantage in the race for the former Arsenal player’s signature.
However, fans on Twitter are not sure whether holding talks with Raiola is a good idea, considering his past track record:
Get it done

Not Raiola. If Malen becomes a superstar he will move him to Real Madrid and Barcelona and will go to war with the club until he gets his way.

Let’s not bother if Raiola is involved.

It’s a difficult one. Malen would be a perfect fit for manager Jurgen Klopp as he can play right across the frontline. He could be an important addition, especially when both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah are away at the African Cup of Nations in January.
Raiola is, though, a major obstacle. The Italian-born Dutchman generally demands very high agent fees, and he may also want to include a release clause. With Dortmund having dealt with him when they signed Erling Haaland previously, you would suspect that the German club could still have the upper hand, even if they are not prepared to meet PSV’s price tag for Malen currently.
