Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic says Liverpool forward Mo Salah has been the best player in the Premier League this campaign.
The American international did namecheck some of his Chelsea teammates when asked the question but he did not hesitate to say who he thinks is performing at the highest level currently:
“I think if you’re looking at our team there’s been some incredible performances, you look at Jorginho and N’Golo [Kante]. But it’s hard to argue you with [Mohamed] Salah and what he’s accomplished. He’s a top guy too.”
Some Manchester City supporters have been trying to claim Bernardo Silva is having a better season than Salah, but you only have to look at the numbers to see why the Egyptian is head and shoulders above the rest.
The 29-year-old has bagged 15 goals in the Premier League, which is five more than anyone else, and he has contributed nine assists, which is also the most of any player in the top flight.
There has been a notable drop in Salah’s form in recent weeks, but even so, the fact that there have only been two league games this campaign where he has not been involved in a goal, kind of tells you all you need to know.
