Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard was the toughest opponent he has faced as a professional footballer.
The pair crossed paths a number of times in their careers before Hazard left Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid a couple of years ago, but Trent says the Belgian remains the hardest player he has come up against:
“Hazard, maybe De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent would have to be Hazard. Speed, agility, mentality, intelligence on and off the ball.”
Fans on Twitter reacted in different ways to Alexander-Arnold’s remarks. While some agreed with the fullback, others felt he would have a different opinion if Mo Salah played for another Premier League team:
He’s right. Hazard is Top player but he doesn’t take football seriously

Hazard’s record at Chelsea speaks for itself. 85 goals and 61 assists in 245 Premier League appearances demonstrates he was an outstanding performer during his seven years with the Blues.
However, Salah has undoubtedly had a greater impact during his time at Anfield. He has already hit 100 goals in the Premier League, having made nearly 100 fewer appearances for the Reds than Hazard did for Chelsea.
