Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar’s asking price has dropped to €30m (£26m), according to reports in the French media.
It was claimed in March that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, with Arsenal also holding a long-standing interest in the player, but the news that the Frenchman’s valuation has been cut in half will likely fuel speculation that the midfielder could move clubs in the summer.
With the Reds likely to be looking for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, Aouar could be the ideal candidate, and supporters on Twitter feel the Merseyside club should make a bid when the transfer window opens:
It’s a no brainer and he’s only 22.

For the price tag currently being quoted, it seems a very good deal, but it remains to be seen whether these reports are accurate. Lyon are struggling financially, like most clubs in France after the collapse of a TV deal, but it would still be surprising if they accept such a low fee for one of their most talented young players.
