Liverpool have contacted the agency that represents Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to reports in the UK.

Summer signing Ibrahima Konate has the same representatives and it is believed the Reds’ good relationship with them could help get a deal over the line for Camavinga.

The Frenchman is being pursued by Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, and he is said to be available for around €40m (£34m) this summer due to the fact that his current deal expires next year.

Whether Liverpool will stand a chance of signing Camavinga, even if they do have strong links with his agent, it is debatable. The 18-year-old is reportedly favouring a move to Spain, and he could see out the last twelve months of his contract in order to secure a free transfer move to Real.

Even so, Jurgen Klopp’s side are thought to be keen on signing a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, with the club having been linked with the likes of Lille’s Renato Sanches and Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, in addition to Camavinga.
