Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has undergone a scan on the hamstring injury he sustained against Chelsea at the weekend.
The Brazilian international was substituted just before half-time in the 1-1 draw after picking up the problem but manager Jurgen Klopp didn’t believe it would keep the 29-year-old out of action for too long.
Initial assessments suggest that Firmino has not sustained a serious injury but he is still a doubt for Liverpool’s game against Leeds after the international break.
The Reds travel to Elland Road in twelve days’ time and it is unlikely that the striker will be in contention to start the match. Diogo Jota, who replaced Firmino on Saturday, is likely to deputise once more.
Liverpool’s only other fitness concern is James Milner. The club’s vice-captain started the opening day win over Norwich City but he has missed the games against Burnley and Chelsea due to a thigh injury The 35-year-old remains 50/50 to return for the Leeds clash.
