Liverpool forward Diogo Jota is a major doubt for Saturday afternoon’s game against Watford due to a muscular injury.

The 23-year-old has not played for Portugal during the current international break and he is not expected to feature when his side take on Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifier this evening.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has recovered from a groin problem that kept him out of the Porto and Manchester City matches and he should be in the squad for the trip to Vicarage Road.

There is less certainty regarding Thiago. The Spaniard has yet to return to full training and we may have to wait until Jurgen Klopp’s pre-match press conference to find out whether he will be available this weekend.

Curtis Jones came off the bench to provide an assist in England Under 21’s 1-0 win over Andorra last night so he should be fit for the Watford match, despite having to sit out the match versus Slovenia with a minor groin strain.

Harvey Elliott is the only other senior player currently on the treatment table, and he is expected to return in the second half of the campaign as he recovers from a dislocated ankle.
