Sassuolo are now prepared to sell Domenico Berardi for €40m (£34m) this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.
It had been claimed that the 26-year-old would be offloaded for around €50m (£43m) but it appears that Sassuolo have softened their stance somewhat despite the strong interest being shown from other clubs.
Liverpool and Leicester are believed to be the two Premier League teams keenest on signing Berardi, with Milan and Lazio also reportedly tracking the Italian international, who scored 17 league goals last season.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible suitors recently but it is not thought that either team will challenge Jurgen Klopp’s side for the winger’s signature.
Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali has already confirmed that they will not stand in Berardi’s way if he wants to leave the Serie A side, but we shall see whether the Reds or any other team make a formal bid for the player.
