Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas has been named in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Week after a standout performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The Greek international deputised for the rested Andy Robertson and he took his chance by making four key passes, three tackles and two interceptions, giving him a rating of 8.10.
Tsimikas is joined in the eleven by Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow, Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante and Marcos Alonso. Aston Villa duo Matty Cash & Douglas Luiz, Brighton’s Leandro Trossard and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr make up the rest of the team.
It will be interesting to see whether Tsimikas gets another start in the Carabao Cup third-round tie against Norwich City tomorrow night. On the basis of the performance on Saturday, he certainly deserves to be in contention.
Manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to field a much-changed team but, after resting a number of players for Palace, there are question marks over which way he will go with his selection.
