Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is close to signing a new contract with the La Liga side, according to reports in the Catalan media.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the France international in recent months, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.
It was claimed that Barca would be open to offloading Dembele for around €50m (£43m) this summer but there has been a breakthrough in negotiations.
It is believed a short-term contract extension has been proposed (as little as one to two years) with the player even open to a small salary reduction.
Liverpool are said to be looking at signing a new forward before the transfer window closes but Dembele was always likely to be quite a way down the list of potential targets.
The Frenchman injured his knee during the European Championships and he won’t be back in action for several months. The winger’s fitness record overall would probably have put off the Reds anyway, despite his undoubted talent.
