Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah has claimed that he will be fit for the Champions League final, despite being forced off with an injury in the FA Cup win over Chelsea on Saturday.

The Egyptian was substituted off just over 30 minutes into the game at Wembley as a result of a groin problem, sparking fears that he would be unavailable to face Real Madrid in the Champions League showdown in Paris on May 28.

Even without Salah, Liverpool went on to defeat Chelsea on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes to lift their second trophy of the season during their hunt for the quadruple, having repeated the EFL Cup win on penalties against the same opponent back in February.

Much of the talk following the game was revolved around the questionable fitness of Salah, but the forward played down the concerns of those associated with the Reds.

After the win on Saturday, Salah was asked if he would be fit to face Real Madrid later this month, replying: “Of course, of course. It’s all good!”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also seems confident that his top goalscorer will be fit, saying after the FA Cup triumph: “Mo came and he said he could carry on, but I felt a little thing. I hope he will be fine.”

After being forced off with a shoulder injury in the first half of Liverpool’s Champions League final defeat to Los Blancos back in 2018, Salah has made it no secret that he seeks revenge in their meeting in the French capital.
