Liverpool striker Divock Origi is expected to stay at Anfield and fight for his place in the first-team squad, according to reports in England.

The likes of Fiorentina, West Ham and Wolves have been mentioned as potential destinations but, at the time of writing, no club has made an official approach for the Belgian international.

Supporters on Twitter were all expecting Origi to leave before the transfer window closed and they can’t believe that the 26-year-old may now stay with the Reds:

Liverpool are reportedly not willing to let the forward go out on loan and, with teams seemingly unprepared to fork out on the player, it appears he could well stay put (barring any last-minute bids).

Origi was not even on the bench for the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at the weekend, highlighting how far he is down the pecking order under manager Jurgen Klopp. The hamstring injury sustained by Roberto Firmino may, though, have coloured the club’s thinking on keeping the Belgian.
