Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool winger Mo Salah is not spoken about enough despite his incredible goalscoring record for the Reds.

The Egyptian international has become the fourth quickest player to reach 100 goals for a single club in Premier League history, after scoring in the 3-3 draw against Brentford on Saturday night.

Ferdinand claims Salah is performing for Liverpool, week in and week out, and the BT Sport pundit says the 29-year-old’s exploits should be recognised more often:

“We need to do a whole segment on Salah not getting the attention, the time, the talk, the focus which he deserves, Go and watch Salah and what he does. He dominates and destroys top-level players on a regular basis. He makes the game look easy, he makes football look easy. When a player’s doing that at the speed at which he plays, that tells you they’re high level. Numbers, trophies don’t lie. Salah has it all.”

Salah’s goalscoring record for the Reds is quite stunning and Ferdinand is right to point out that the Egyptian isn’t talked about more. He will undoubtedly go down as one of the greats of the Premier League era, especially if he continues in the same form for the next few years.

There is also be a legitimate argument to be had over whether Salah merits a place in Liverpool’s all-time eleven, considering his impact on the Merseyside club over the past four years.
