Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, according to reports in Spain.
The 26-year-old currently earns €9m a year (£146,000 a week) but, despite his current deal expiring in 2023, he has yet to agree to an extension.
Real reportedly want an answer from Asensio by the end of June or they will put him on the transfer market, but supporters on Twitter don’t think the Reds should pursue the Spanish international:
Please no, he is finished.

Poor player, there are many players better than him and half of price

The winger’s record this season is actually pretty decent, having scored 10 goals and contributed one assist in 33 appearances, which is his best scoring return for five years.
With Mo Salah’s future up in the air, Asensio could well be a player Liverpool’s recruitment team are considering. He is left-footed and plays off the right flank making him a good fit to replace the Egyptian.
However, with it being claimed that the Merseyside club are also pursuing the likes of Leeds’ Raphinha and Ajax’s Antony, there are arguably better options out there.
