The Premier League ‘Big Six’, including Liverpool, won’t get involved with plans to revive the European Super League, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are still backing a breakaway tournament, despite the fact that the majority of teams who threw their weight behind the original proposal back in April last year have pulled out.

FSG’s decision to take part in the Super League without consulting fans caused a lot of anger, prompting the club to hastily withdraw their support for the plans.

It also forced principal owner John W Henry into apologising and promising to learn from the mistakes made in signing up for the new competition.

Back in December, Liverpool set up a “Supporters Board” which means that 16 fans (ten from the Spirit of Shankly and six from other supporter groups) will attend regular meetings with club officials. The chair will also be invited to main board meetings when specific matters arise.
