Liverpool have tabled a bid worth €35m (£30m) for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport (via BeIN Sports).
The Italian newspaper say the offer falls €15m short of Bayern’s €50m (£43m) asking price for the France international, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Speculation has increased about Coman’s future in recent months, with reports in Germany claiming that the 25-year-old is refusing to sign an extension to his current deal with Bayern.
It has led to suggestions that both Chelsea and Manchester United may make moves for the Frenchman, who scored Bayern’s winner against PSG in the 2020 Champions League final.
Whether Liverpool are also trying to muscle in on negotiations, in the hope they can get a fast, pacey winger on the cheap, we shall have to wait and see. Coman would certainly give manager Jurgen Klopp another quality option for the front three but the Reds aren’t likely to spend £43m on him.
